Hi, my name is Joel. I am the Education Consultant for Tutor Doctor of Mount Juliet & Hendersonville. Since 1993, I have taught part-time at several different colleges and currently am an Associate Professor with a Doctorate degree in Business. During this time period, I have seen so many students come to college lacking some of the educational skills and concepts crucial for achievement. This is one of the reasons that I chose Tutor Doctor. Since 2017, we have helped numerous students go from Fs to As and Bs. Our tutors have helped students receive scholarships and increase the ones that they had already received. It is a good feeling to see these things happen. My main role with Tutor Doctor Knoxville is to facilitate pairing your child with the tutor that will help them get to where you want them to go.

Hello, my name is Daniel Tichota! What I love most about working with Tutor Doctor is knowing that they will introduce me to families which they feel can gain greatly from my skills. But even more than that is the knowledge that when I leave the student's home that day, I invested in them. I may be tutoring the next great star, scientist, or even president, but no matter how little or much time we spent together, I was able to help them through a struggle to reach their full potential.

Daniel holds a BA in Pastoral Ministry, an MA in Human Resources, and is working toward a MA in Secondary Education from Oakland City University.

For me, I love tutoring because of what it does for the student. It's really cool watching them go from being stressed out and scared of a certain type of problem to understanding it and wanting to try more challenging problems by the end of the session. I want kids to enjoy learning, so I try to make it as fun as I can and relate subjects that they don't like to things that they are interested in to make the topics more interesting. It's also just really fulfilling to see a student come back with a test score or report card that shows a significant improvement in their grade. The parents and kids just want to celebrate and it’s hard to find a better feeling than helping someone else to succeed!
