Tutor Doctor Sunnyvale Mountain-View Cupertino
Mariana Aguilar Rivera
Hello! My name is Mariana! I am San Jose State University and Santa Clara University alumnus! I have been working with Tutor Doctor for over six months now. My clients have ranged from elementary school to high school and college. I hold a teaching credential from the state of California in single subject teaching for Social Science (U.S., World History, Geography, Government, and Economics); however, I can tutor in Reading and Writing, and can help students with research for projects and papers. My expertise working with students also allows me to help them manage their time and communicate with instructors effectively so that it will translate to the professional realm. My work as an instructor, I am also able to help students practice critical reading skills, pre-writing, and writing strategies, and find effectual study tools that will improve the quality of my students’ work.
While I have worked as an instructor in the classroom, I am also passionate about tutoring because I believe it is the bridge between classroom learning and individual learning. As we begin to emerge from the pandemic, I believe tutoring is going to be key to helping students catch up and close the gap created by this event.
One of the highlights of my instructional career was leading a small group of graduates on a 10-Day World War II Historical Tour of England and France through EF Tours. Even though students had already graduated, they were still intent on learning about the United States’ role in the war, French cuisine, and about how to be considerate world travelers.
Trent Kiefaber
Hi, my name is Trent Kiefaber and I am passionate about helping students learn Math. I received my undergraduate degree in economics from Saint Mary’s College of California and am currently pursuing a master’s degree in economics at George Washington University. In my studies I am extremely proficient in any algebra, precalculus or calculus. When tutoring I ensure that every student’s learning style comes first. It can be extremely difficult to learn a subject if it isn’t taught in a way that is beneficial to you. Tutoring makes me happy because I know that I am helping students to achieve their goals.
