Terry Johnson
I have been teaching for 18 years and within those 18 years, I taught at John Tyler Community College for 6 years. I earned my B.S. degree in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. I earned my M.S. degree in Chemical & Life Science from University of Maryland at College Park, Maryland. I started my career teaching chemistry at Surry County High School. I wrote curriculums for Biology II and Biochemistry at Surry while also teach AP Biology. I started my career at Chesterfield County’s Matoaca High School in 2004 and have been there ever since. At Matoaca High School, I had the privilege of teaching all grades and all levels. I taught Bioloy I, Biology 2, Physics, Anatomy & Physiology, and Lab Assistant. In 2007, I became the Science Department Chair and developed programs such as First Generation and mentoring males. As a department chair, I have been responsible for expanding programs such as AP Environmental Science, Dual Enrollment Anatomy & Physiology, Dual Enrollment Physics, AP Physics C (calculus based), Ecology, Oceanography, Biology 2, Dual Enrollment Biology, and Science Technology Engineering Arts and Math (STEAM) incorporation across all disciplines. I am the sponsor of the STEAM Team comprised of exceptional students who compete yearly at the county’s STEAM Expo. I have a 14-year-old son, Terry Jr, commutes to school with me and he is in the 10th grade. He is in the Specialty Center for Information Technology and part of the first cohort of the Early College Academy Program. I have another son who is 10, Trevon, in the 5th grade. Both earns A/B honor roll each marking period. I also coach both of my kids summer track for AAU and USATF. They both earned a combine 16 medals this year and qualified for AAU Junior Olympics. I am married to Natasha, a registered pharmacist, and we just celebrated our 16th year anniversary.
Natasha Johnson
I have been a pharmacist for over 17 years, providing services and care to improve the quality of life to many people of all ages. My background as allowed me to serve infants up to the elderly ensuring the medications are dosed properly and the follow up treatments are effective. I also enjoy enhancing my community through mentoring, volunteering and actively participating in the Youth ministry at church. I am happily married to Terry Johnson and together we have been blessed with two wonderful sons, Terry ,14 and Trevon who is 10 years old. As a family we value spending time with each other, traveling and our favorite past-time, eating.
