How the money works
The funds go to your family, not to us. Here is the order things happen in.

The state awards the funds to your family. Eligibility and award amounts are set by the Arkansas Department of Education.

You call us and we build the tutoring plan. We do not process applications and you do not apply through us.
Program one
The Arkansas Literacy Tutoring Grant
For public and open-enrollment charter school families, K-3
What is this program?
A grant from the Arkansas Department of Education for supplemental literacy support, funded under the LEARNS Act.
Does my child qualify?
It is for K-3 students in Arkansas public and open-enrollment charter schools who need additional reading support. The state decides who is eligible and notifies those families directly.
What can I use the funds for?
Reading and literacy tutoring. This grant is specifically for K-3 literacy, so it does not cover other subjects.
What does tutoring with us look like?
One-to-one work on a plan built for your child, never a group session. We start by finding where the breakdown actually is, because a child who cannot decode words needs different instruction than one who decodes fine but loses the meaning. Sessions happen in your home, at a local library, or online.

Education Freedom Accounts
For homeschool and private school families, K-12
What is this program?
An account funded by the state that Arkansas families can use for approved educational expenses, including tutoring. It was created by the LEARNS Act.
Does my child qualify?
It is for Arkansas K-12 students who are homeschooled or attending a private school. Students enrolled full time in a public or public charter school are not eligible.
What can I use the funds for?
A wide range of tutoring. Families use their account for reading and math support, subject-specific tutoring, study skills, and test prep.
What does tutoring with us look like?
Tutoring is an approved expense and we are an approved service provider. We match your child with one tutor, build a plan around the course or skill they are stuck on, and meet in your home, at a library, or online.

Do I apply for the funding through you?
No. Both programs are run by the Arkansas Department of Education and you apply directly with the state. Once your family has the funding, you choose an approved provider, and that is where we come in.
How do I know which program is ours?
Your child’s school decides it. Public or open-enrollment charter points to the Literacy Grant. Homeschool or private points to an Education Freedom Account. No family qualifies for both.
How do I find you on the state provider list?
Tutor Doctor Fayetteville Arkansas is the name to look for. The lists are long, so searching that exact name is the fastest way to find us.
My child has dyslexia or another learning difference. Can you help?
Yes. We regularly work with students who have IEPs, 504 plans, and diagnosed learning differences, and we coordinate with what is already happening at school.
Do you serve my area?
We tutor in person across much of Northwest Arkansas, and we work with families anywhere in the state through online sessions. If you are not sure whether we can reach you, give us a call.

How do we know if we are eligible?
The Arkansas Department of Education identifies eligible students and notifies those families directly. If you have not been notified, the official page linked below has the current rules.
Can we use it for math or other subjects?
No. This grant is specifically for K-3 reading and literacy support.
How many sessions will the grant cover?
That depends on your award and how often your child meets with a tutor. We will map it out during the initial consultation so there are no surprises.
