Christine Knight, M.A.

Talent Acquisition and Learning Development Specialist

Meet Christine. She has been a teacher in Arizona for three years but before moving to Arizona to teach, she grew up and went to school in Connecticut. She received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Liberal Arts from Southern Connecticut State University and recently completed my master’s degree in Sociology with an Emphasis on Education from Grand Canyon University. Working with children has always been a passion, and she enjoys being able to work in the Tutor Doctor setting and support our Valley’s families.

Among her personal interest are reading, drawing, volunteering, and finding the newest restaurants in the valley. Road trips and weekend getaways are amazing in the southwest, and she and her new husband take them regularly.

Jarrod T

Jarrod T

Phoenix Middle and High School Tutor

My name is Jarrod and I’m happy to be of service! My hobbies include exercising and being active, reading, playing basketball, hiking, and finding new ways to educate myself. I love to research ways to strengthen my body, my mind and spirit so that I can be the best version of myself. I love to travel as much as possible to experience cultural differences; mainly trying new food in different cities.

In regard to my teaching style/support, I believe that repetition is key as well as having the patience to understand the student’s learning style and mannerisms. I feel like everyone is capable of learning, we as educators do our best to accommodate for our students learning style and durability. It is important to me to get to know and build a healthy relationship with the parents/family members because we all want what is best for the student. I am very optimistic for all of my future students and I look forward to meeting and building positive relationships as many people as I can.

Emily Z

Scottsdale Early Elementary Specialist

I am originally from Nebraska, though I have been living in Arizona for over two years. I quickly fell in love with the warmth of the desert and its gorgeous sunsets. I have also had the joy of living and teaching English in California, Turkey, and Japan.

On the weekdays, I can often be found at parks and libraries with my 3-year-old son, then enjoying the weekends with both my husband and son. One of the things I find most satisfying about teaching English is interacting with students while helping them recognize their inherent potential and capabilities.

I strive to build connection and understand the perspectives of students so I can best support their learning goals. I look forward to creating a rewarding and knowledgeable tutoring experience with you!

I would describe myself as an organized and adaptive person. I use these traits in my method of teaching as well because I enjoy learning/teaching content based on the individual’s needs and preferences. Collaboration is the key to success!

I am originally from Los Angeles, and I have resided in Arizona for 5 years, after receiving my degree in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University in 2019. I am in the process of completing my 5th year as an educator at Sonoran Science Academy.

My specialties are Math and English Language Arts for grades K-6! Prior to working as a teacher, I worked as a camp counselor for the YMCA and youth activity leader  for the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Phoenix. During my years of being in the education field, I have hosted the National Honor Society, Academic Leadership for 3rd-5th grade and been appointed Teacher of The Year for the 2022- 2023 school year.

My hobbies outside of education include spending time with my family, reading, outdoor activities and going to concerts! My mission is to develop relationships with each and every scholar I have the privilege to work with and provide academic growth in areas we lack confidence in.

I strongly believe that each child is capable of achieving their goals with that extra push and boost of motivation!

Mckaylee M

Mckaylee M

ACT and SAT tutor

I am a Biomedical sciences and and Ethics student at ASU, and will be working to get my PhD so I can research Alzheimer’s. When I am not at school or work, I am involved in the DNA Nanotechnology lab working on DNA origami.

The ACT and SAT are very different tests than students have encountered in their academic career, and preparing for them can be daunting and overwhelming. I work with my students to limit their frustration by setting up study schedules with a mix of test sections and practice work. I initially focus on concepts they are struggling with and then work with them on timing and test-taking skills.
