Owner/Education Consultant

Hello! My name is Elizabeth Maranto. I have lived in Kingwood since 2005, but I am a native Texan and grew up in a small town in the northeast corner of the state. My husband, Rico, joined the Air Force shortly after we were married, and we had the opportunity to live in Italy, England, and Colorado. However, our hearts led us back home and we have loved living in the Houston area and raising our children here.

I am personally invested in the education of our community as a parent, grandparent, and educator. My four children all graduated from Kingwood High School, and I taught both 2nd and 4th grade in New Caney ISD. My great love is teaching reading. I believe that reading and literature can broaden children’s minds, open worlds to them (whether real or imaginary) and create vast possibilities for their futures.

When I was presented with the opportunity to open Tutor Doctor Kingwood, I knew that it was a great fit for me. The Tutor Doctor model of helping students one to one, meeting them where they are in their learning, and working with individual learning styles, personalities, and needed accommodations, mirrored my philosophy of how to best help students achieve their goals and feel successful.

After teaching through the pandemic, I understand the struggles that students, parents, and teachers faced with whole class virtual learning. Now, more than ever, students need the one-to-one attention of a tutor. Our tutors provide tutoring around the families’ schedule and in the comfort of their home. We work with each student individually to help meet the expectations of the classroom and address any gaps in learning. Our goal is to build the academic foundations that will help students be successful in school and, ultimately, in life.
