Executive functioning skills – sounds fancy, right? These skills are the “command and control” functions of the brain, allowing us to set goals, plan, remember instructions, and juggle multiple tasks. They’re like the conductor of an orchestra, ensuring every part of the brain works in harmony.

Without executive functioning skills, a student might struggle to stay on top of homework, manage their time effectively, or stay focused during lessons.

Our X-Skills program is designed to reinforce these skills, facilitating your student’s learning journey and equipping them for lifelong success.

Introducing X-Skills

Imagine a world where your child confidently navigates both the academic landscape and the daily rigor of life with resilience and self-assuredness. That’s the world we strive to create at Tutor Doctor with our X-Skills Coaching Program, nurturing not just the academic prowess but essential life skills too.

In this 12-week foundational program, we don’t just teach, we empower. We instill in your child the art of mastering life skills-setting goals, managing time, staying organized, and maintaining focus.

Guided by a dedicated coach, each student will develop a suite of tailored habits and strategies that leverage their individual needs and strengths. We’re laying the groundwork for a lifetime of skills development and autonomy, one day at a time.

X-Skills Coaching VS Tutoring: What’s the Difference?

Tutoring helps a child reach their academic goals in a certain subject, like math or English. Students may need a tutor if they struggle to understand and/or apply the subject content taught in class.

X-Skills is a form of transferable skills coaching where students develop essential skills like how to keep track of and complete their assignments and tasks, how to best organize their schoolwork and materials, and how to set and accomplish goals. These skills are essential to success in school and beyond.
