Dexter is the beloved orange tabby at Tutor Doctor Markham’s office, a charming addition adopted by Justin’s family from a local shelter. Known for his affectionate nature and inquisitive personality, Dexter has a knack for reminding everyone when it’s time to feed him and is always up for a snack. His presence adds a touch of warmth and friendliness to the office environment, making him a valued companion to everyone.

Akilesh is an exceptional tutor specializing in Math and Science. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour at McMaster University, he brings academic rigor and a genuine enthusiasm for these subjects. Akilesh’s background includes volunteer research work at Toronto Western Hospital and leadership roles in student activities at high school. He enjoys photography, football, cricket, badminton, and cooking. Akilesh’s approach to tutoring is shaped by his diverse experiences and interests, offering students not just academic guidance but also a broader perspective on learning and personal development.

Joe is an enthusiastic tutor who is completing a degree in Mathematics for Education at York University while also pursuing a teaching degree in high school mathematics. Passionate about both mathematics and teaching, Joe is known for his responsibility, organization, and excellent time management skills. He believes that mastering mathematics involves not just understanding the concepts but also committing to regular practice. Joe encourages his students to embrace challenges in mathematics, and he is eager to share his experiences and knowledge to help them develop a positive mindset and succeed in the subject.

Kristina is a public servant with an academic background in philosophy, having graduated from The University of Toronto with her MA in philosophy in 2021. Her teaching experience encompasses many areas including reading, writing – at the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels – and phonics. She loves the process of getting to know her students and helping them to understand concepts and acquire new knowledge. Her hobbies include hiking, weightlifting, and writing/editing, and she loves her family and her Macedonian culture.

Evi is an experienced and well-versed tutor capable of teaching all subjects at the primary and junior levels. Her education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Studies, a minor in Psychology, as well as a Bachelor of Education degree in the Primary and Junior Division. Evi has been working in the field of education for over 5 years, with extensive experience teaching at kindergarten level. She specializes in teaching English – reading, writing, oral, and comprehension, and has experience implementing a variety of reading programs including the We Will Read and Empower programs offered by the Toronto District School Board. Evi believes in a hands-on learning experience and that every child learns differently and have their own strengths and needs that should be explored during tutoring. Evi’s hobbies include playing badminton, organizing and holding events, teaching dance, and exploring new and improved curriculum.

Labibah is a dedicated tutor entering her fourth year in the Medical Sciences program at Western University. With two years of professional experience, she has tutored over 30 students in mathematics, sciences, and other subjects. Labibah has developed a keen interest in mentorship, aiming to help students understand their academic paths more clearly. She is well-organized, understanding, and constantly focused on self-growth. As a tutor, her goal is to comprehend the academic needs of her students and assist them in achieving their educational objectives.

Max is an engaging tutor who believes in building strong connections with his students to understand their individual learning needs. He is currently studying French as a Second Language for Primary/Junior levels at Western University, where he’s working towards his Bachelor of Education. Max also holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science and Global Development from Queens University. He specializes in teaching English, Politics, History, Indigenous Studies, and is expanding his expertise to French. With experience teaching students from kindergarten to Grade 12, Max’s adaptable teaching style is effective across all age groups. His approach is energetic, fun, and tailored to each student’s unique journey.

Michelle has a strong background in Mathematics and Science. A graduate of the Physiology and Pharmacology program at Western University, Michelle has consistently achieved academic distinction, making her well-equipped to guide students in Mathematics and Science courses. Her diverse experience, ranging from swim instruction to research assistance, has honed her skills in engaging with various learning styles, making her an adaptable and effective tutor. Michelle’s approach to tutoring is characterized by patience, clarity, and a deep commitment to student success.

Sipan is a dedicated tutor who is pursuing a degree in Master of Sciences in the medical science program at the University of Toronto, where he helps aid in the coordination of clinical trials for patients with treatment-resistant unipolar and bipolar depression. His interests in medicine and neuroscience make him a strong candidate for tutoring sciences. Beyond academics, Sipan is engaged in various hobbies, including cooking, weightlifting, and Latin dancing. He is committed to supporting and encouraging students who need an extra push in their studies, understanding the stress of school and the significant impact a passionate and knowledgeable tutor can have. Furthermore, he consistently works to connect with and empower his students.

Tracy is a dedicated tutor specializing in Mathematics and Science subjects, backed by her academic background in Immunology and Pharmacology at the University of Toronto. Tracy combines her deep understanding of scientific principles with a passion for education, making her an ideal tutor for students seeking guidance in these areas. Veronica is a dynamic tutor with a background in Family and Community Social Services from the University of Guelph-Humber. Her global teaching experience, which includes teaching English in Japan and ESL in China through the Qkids program, has enriched her tutoring style. Veronica is currently working towards becoming a teacher. She enjoys helping students learn and is dedicated to making learning both fun and relevant to everyday life. Her tutoring approach is tailored to meet the individual needs and goals of her students, ensuring a personalized and effective learning experience.
