Two years ago when her family moved to Oklahoma she was at the bottom of her class. Teachers told her parents that because she was so young, 2nd grade would be a good year for her to catch up. Education is very important in their family so they did not want school to be hard for Ava. They connected with Tutor Doctor and were matched with me. At the start of second grade Ava tested extremely low on the DIBLES test (Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills). So much so that the school offered additional reading help. I continued to work weekly with Ava and by the end of the year she was above some of the third grade standards. She went easily into third grade reading chapter books. She ended the year with all A's and one B. She took the OCCT test and again passed with flying colors. School is fun for her and reading is easy. She has come so far from her parents thinking they might have to hold her back to knowing that next year 4th grade will be awesome! –Diana Davis
