One-on-One Web-based Tutoring Questions & Answers

1. How do I enroll?

  • Complete the form on the Tutor Doctor website. You will receive an email confirmation and a phone call to settle details

2. What are the system requirements?

  • We are using Zoom (elementary) or Bramble (other grades) as the web platform
  • Students will need an internet connection - broadband wired or wireless (3G or 4G/LTE). Your student will need to have built-in microphone or USB plug-in or wireless Bluetooth for audio and speech
  • Computers or laptops purchased within the last four years should easily meet the requirements
  • Windows and Mac OS operating systems are supported
  • Chrome is the preferred web browser

3. How do I know who is my student’s teacher?

  • A teacher will be assigned based on your student’s grade, subject(s) chosen, and available time

4. May I change my student’s teachers?

  • Yes, we will make every effort to accommodate your request

5. How much does it cost?

  • Parents pay $79 for four 45-minute tutoring sessions delivered Monday through Thursday. Parents choose the week they want to attend
  • Parents may purchase an online academic assessment for $25. This is optional

6. How do I pay?

  • Payments will be deducted from a debit or credit card or bank account you provide. We use Authorize.net as our web-based merchant. Sorry, no checks or cash

7. What is the curriculum?

  • Teachers choose the curriculum or work with curriculum provided by the family or student’s teacher. Our curricula are common core based

8. How do I stop the service when I am done?
