Carey & David Grucza

Carey and David Grucza moved to Roswell, Georgia over twenty years ago. Both Penn State alumni and northern natives, they came in search of better weather and a great education for their three children. The Grucza family has since been involved in the community including through the schools their children attended, Mountain Park Elementary, Crabapple Middle, and Roswell High School. In addition, they continue to be local admissions recruitment volunteers for Penn State.

Carey, a veteran certified elementary school teacher, has a Masters in Counseling from Edinboro University and Masters of Arts in Teaching from Mercer University. She has taught at a number of local schools including The Atlanta Jewish Academy and The Epstein School. In March of 2020, Carey was one of many educators who had to quickly transition her classroom from in-person to online due to the pandemic. She experienced first-hand the issues that teachers faced reaching students virtually and worked with students and parents as they struggled to navigate learning in a new environment. Anticipating the many more challenges that students, parents, and teachers would face in the new school year, she felt there was a better way to help students outside of the classroom.

The opportunity to own Tutor Doctor Roswell came at the perfect time for the Gruczas. David, a well-regarded business leader, had always wanted to own a local business, and Carey, a strong proponent for individualized education was confident that Tutor Doctor Roswell would be the perfect vehicle for continuing to serve local students with one-on-one education offerings.

Today, the Grucza leadership team is proud to work with exceptional local educators who have joined Tutor Doctor Roswell as tutors. They enjoy meeting new parents and students, and when they aren’t working, can often be found outside with their three rescue dogs Biscuit, Ohana, and Chewie.
