Heather Black- Education Consultant
Heather Black joined Tutor Doctor in 2016. She currently serves as an Education Consultant for Tutor Doctor of Rochester.
As the mother of three school-aged children, Heather understands how stressful it can be on a family when a student struggles in school. She is committed to relieving that stress by discovering the root cause of a student’s academic problems and then building them back up to a level from which they can excel on their own.
Heather has spent her entire adult life helping people. After graduating from The Ohio State University, she worked for five years as a school-based social worker in Central New York. Heather moved to Rochester in 2005 and transitioned to a nursing career. She worked for many years as an R.N. in the mother/baby unit of Highland Hospital.
Heather lives in Penfield with her husband, Rich, their three daughters and a 13-year-old Labrador Retriever named Jack.
Rich Black- Regional Director
Rich Black joined Tutor Doctor in 2016. He currently serves as Regional Director for Tutor Doctor of Rochester.
Rich enjoys helping students achieve their full academic potential. He is constantly on the lookout for tutors who want to make a difference in students’ lives. Rich believes the best tutors are those that are motivated by helping students achieve “Aha” moments when everything clicks and they finally understand the concepts that had been eluding them.
Rich is a graduate of Cornell University and currently serves as President of the Cornell Club of Rochester. He holds an MBA from the Simon Business School and a master’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University at Albany.
