Brian & Julie Scheer
Brian and Julie have lived in Overland Park for over 30 years. They decided to live in Overland Park because they value the great education the Blue Valley School District provides. The Scheer family has been involved in the community including through the schools their children attended, Blue River Elementary and Blue Valley Middle. In addition, they actively participate in PTO programs.
Brian grew up in Overland Park. He attended Harmony Elementary School, Harmony Middle School and Blue Valley Northwest High School. After studying at Kansas State University, Brian returned to Overland Park and has more than 20 years of business experience in the customer service and financial services fields.
Julie lived with family in Leawood when she moved to the area. She has always had a passion for education. For years, has volunteered her time to work with families and students to help them achieve their educational goals.
Brian and Julie have experienced first-hand the challenges the pandemic has created for students and families. Like many parents in Overland Park, Leawood and Stillwell they had trouble maintaining their busy work lives, while also struggling to navigate the new learning environment created by ongoing changes form in-person to online learning modes. Anticipating the many more challenges that students, parents, and teachers would face in the coming years, they felt there was a better way to help students outside of the classroom.
The opportunity to own Tutor Doctor Blue Valley came at the perfect time for the Scheer’s. Brian, a well-regarded business leader, had always wanted to own a local business, and Julie, a strong proponent for individualized education was confident that Tutor Doctor Blue Valley would be the perfect vehicle for continuing to serve local students with one-on-one education offerings.
Today, the Scheer leadership team is proud to work with exceptional, experienced local educators who have joined Tutor Doctor Blue Valley as tutors. They absolutely love meeting new parents and students.
