Jami DaDan
Tutor
Jami DaDan is an energetic person with a deep interest in helping the next generation of students come into their full potential. During the COVID pandemic I saw the failures of our educational systems and feel called to assist students who are behind or lack confidence in their classwork. I am an experienced substitute teacher and an 8-year veteran of teaching 8th grade Catechism. I love children and admire their wit, curiosity, and talents. My career work experience is in economic development. I was a grant administrator in state and city government for 17 years. I loved government and political science in my early years and was fortunate to work for the State of Michigan and the City of Green Bay. During a period of unemployment, I became a substitute teacher for Marquette Senior High School. Between that job and the experience of tutoring my children, stepchildren, and grandchildren with their studies, including college work, I have the experience needed to tutor students with their educational needs. I have a Master of Public Administration degree from Western Michigan University, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University. My love of gardening led me to obtaining a Master Gardener certificate from Michigan State University Extension. I am a lifelong Spartan who loves the basketball and football teams but will cheer for any Big 10 team. I am also a diehard Chicago Cubs fans and as you can guess I spend my free time watching various sporting events. I also love to bake and am always in search of people to share my goods with.

Doug Fuller
Tutor
I graduated from Western Michigan University with a math degree. My teaching career started in 1972 at Northern High School in the math department then I transferred to West Junior High for 6 years then went to Portage Central High School where I remained in the math department for 30 years. Upon my retirment from Portage Central I taught a math lab for 6 years at the High School in Vicksburg, then most recently in 2017 until present, I have been employed part time as an adjunct professor at Kalamazoo Valley Community College in their math department. During my years leading up to retirement, I also was a wrestling coach, girls tennis coach and class advisor. I have always enjoyed math and like having the opportunity to share that excitement with my students. I enjoy working with young people and helping them to understand math and all the ways it can be applied to everyday life. I am very patient and want to help students overcome their fear of math and instill a confidence in them that they will carry throughout their lifetime.

Mr. Vincent Buse
Tutor
My name is Vincent Buse and I currently live in Oshtemo Township area. I grew up in a rural community in SW Minnesota where agriculture was the predominant form of employment, I have always considered myself fortunate to work on a farm because it gave me my current work ethic. I graduated from Mankato State University in Minnesota, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Business Administration. Throughout my career, my computer programming jobs have placed me in various parts of the United States, including Kalamazoo and Kentwood Michigan in the mid to late 90’s. For the past 22 years I lived in the Columbus, Ohio area working in the newspaper industry, polishing my analytical skills. I recently moved to Oshtemo officially in May of 2021. The reason why I want to be your child’s coach/tutor is because for me it is not only gratifying to help others, but it just seems natural for me. Over my professional career, I have coached/taught co-workers on software implementations, wrote computer programs with their guidance on business rules, and developed analytical skills to decipher and remedy issues. When I had to instruct/coach my co-workers and struggles would arise, my goal was to use their strengths to overcome their other areas of need. I found that with most of my students that “got their hands dirty” to fix their struggles, they became more confident with the new material. I currently use some of these concepts when I coach my 5 Godchildren, plus my nieces and nephews, some of which I am not biologically related. My areas of expertise are Math and Computer Science. Like I tell all my “students”… there is nothing we cannot figure out together. Thank you for taking the time in reading my profile.

Abigail Groark
Tutor
Hi! My name is Abi and I grew up in Olympia, Washington. I graduated from Saint Martin's University with my undergrad in Mathematics and am currently getting my masters of teaching mathematics from Western Governors University. This is my 9th year tutoring privately, and I also work for KPS at an alternative school. In my free time, you can find me hanging out with my animals, at the zoo, or with friends. I have a certifiable obsession with Harry Potter and can talk about it for hours. I believe that the foundation for good tutoring lies in the relationships I make with the families and students I work with. I try my hardest to make mathematics fun and engaging in ways that are difficult in classrooms with 20+ students. Hopefully, together, we can make you or your child excel in math!

Trenton Jandris
Tutor
Hello! I am Trenton Jandris, and I am a senior at Western Michigan University. I plan to graduate with a major in Behavioral Science and continue my education with a doctorate in Clinical Psychology. I live in Kalamazoo with my wife and our cat Lux. We love playing board games, cooking, and going on hikes, although Lux finds her own way to disrupt these activities when she needs some more attention! I have been tutoring privately for two years now, and I specialize in science and math subjects. It is my goal when tutoring to not only help students with difficult subjects, but also to empower them with the tools they need to help themselves in the future.

Sandra Zukowski
Tutor
I continue to be attracted to working in one-on-one environments where I can learn more about the world through the eyes of another person. Currently I go to people's homes or meet them in public places to notarize documents for them, as a Notary Public, and help them with their real estate transactions, as a Notary Signing Agent. At the same time, I host a variety of people in my Airbnb close to downtown Kalamazoo. I have hosted people from all over the world and have helped dozens of people integrate into our community as they move here to work. In the warmer months in Michigan, I also give horseback riding lessons and train to facilitate Equine Assisted Learning sessions for people who are seeking self-improvement with the assistance of the powerful energy field the horse brings to the process. These gigs are all in alignment with my teacher preparation in English and Communication at Western Michigan University 37 years ago.
