    Michael

Hello, my name is Michael. I am an Educational Consultant and co-owner of Tutor Doctor South Fort Lauderdale. I graduated from American International in Springfield, MA, and have lived/worked up and down the East Coast for the last 30 years. I have worked in many different fields in my career, from Real Estate, government/military consulting roles, and a range of different corporate I.T. roles including teacher/trainer as well as engineer, and also the author of “IT REVOLUTION” as my first book, several more coming up. During my teaching and consulting roles, my focus was to help educate people on new technology and how to prepare for its implementation. I enjoy finding solutions to people’s problems. When I looked to the next phase of my career, I wanted to work in a role where I could more directly help people, and Tutor Doctor stood right out. Helping children is helping everyone’s future because that is what they are. With Tutor Doctor’s individualized attention to the student, we can more directly achieve this mutual goal.Michael

    Amily

Hello, my name is Amily. I’ve lived in three different countries. After experiencing different teaching methods there is one thing that always stuck with me, and that is: teaching is having the art of explaining complex concepts in a simpler way. From explaining lessons to my friends, to teaching new concepts in college classes; tutoring students is one of the things that I enjoy the most because I get to see the student satisfaction after understanding what they first thought was too challenging. I am currently finishing my degree in Economics and doing so I’ve had the opportunity to learn how to code on my own. I also founded a Speech and Debate program for students in High School that encourages students to voice their opinions regarding current topics.

    Eva

Hello, my name is Eva. I have always been passionate about tutoring because I get to help my students' knowledge and self-confidence grow in subjects they believed were once too difficult for them. I am currently attending FAU High School, which is a program that allows me to be fully dual-enrolled at FAU; meaning that I am working towards my Bachelor's degree at the same time as my high school diploma. I have multiple years of experience teaching elementary, middle, and high school students in a variety of classes, creating a unique tutoring environment with every student. I am comfortable tutoring any subject K-8 as well as A.P. World History, Government, Biology, US History, Algebra 1, Algebra 2 and Literature.

    Mark

Hello, my name is Mark. When Mark was five years old, his father told him that the most important thing for him was to work hard to get a great education. “Whatever the future brings, the man with an education is going to have a tremendous advantage.” Mark took his father‘s words to heart: 12 years later he graduated as Valedictorian of his high school class in Anoka, Minnesota. He went on to earn a Bachelors Degree in Psychology With Highest Honors (Summa Cum Laude) at the University of Minnesota. Later he was awarded an FHWA fellowship to do graduate work in Industrial Relations at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Business Administration. Mark went on to work in human resources with the State of Minnesota Highway Department and Exxon Chemical in Baton Rouge, Louisiana as a Training Officer. In this role, he designed, instructed, and administered professional training programs for engineers and scientists. More recently, Mark worked in the financial services industry for 20 years, as an investment broker and money manager with Smith Barney, Harris, Upham, and later as Divisional Vice President and Branch Manager of Paine Webber’s St. Paul Minnesota office. Mark is also a published author. His book “Trading On Tomorrow’s Headlines” is considered to be the definitive work on the legitimate use of insider trading data in stock selection. Mark feels there is no better way to pass on his father‘s legacy then to help young people gain an edge in their education. “I can only hope that my work with students conveys some of the advantages I had as a result of my father’s advice about the value of a quality education.”

    Georgette

Hello, my name is Georgette. I have taught almost 17 years as a certified teacher and have worked as a Substitute teacher prior to my employment as an official teacher, which gives me 27 years in the Education field. I have several degrees, my highest degree is a Master’s in Education, Specializing in Reading. I have taught Grades 1 – 6, but I have also taught College Prep Reading and Writing for a year and half at Miami Dade College. I am very passionate about Reading because it affects learning in all the subject areas. My favorite quote that I like to tell students is “Reading is to the mind what food is to the body.” I believe all children can learn with patience, encouragement, and care. The most fulfilling part of teaching is watching the growth/progress of children over the year, which makes it a most noble career. I look forward in continuing to inspire and lead children into accomplishing their goals, and this starts with a good education.

    Samantha

Hello, my name is Samantha. I am a homeschool mom, MFA graduate, and amateur screenwriter. I spent a little more than half my life in New York before moving to South Florida to escape the frigid winters. While traditional education can be very “one size fits all”, I believe that true learning is a personal, lifelong journey. I love being a tutor because it gives me a chance to meet students at all stages of their learning journey, and to make a lasting impact on their educational lives.

    Abigayle

Hello, my name is Abigayle. I am a Junior at Nova Southeastern University’s Halmos College of Natural Sciences and Oceanography studying Chemistry with a minor in Research Studies. I am also a part of the Razor’s Edge Research Program in which I conduct ferrocene research with Dr. Dimitri Giarikos, Ph.D. My inspiration to teach comes from my younger sister, Natalie, who has autism spectrum disorder. Her intelligence is remarkable; it just takes patience and a creative mind to connect and learn with her. That’s fundamental in teaching any student, child, or adult. I decided to work with Tutor Doctor because one-on-one tutoring is the best way to get a child to feel empowered while working with their intellect. “Not knowing everything is ok,” teaching that to students is key to unlocking a fearless mind to think critically and creatively.
